Charles Douglas "Doug" Young

Mr. Charles Douglas “Doug” Young, 77, entered into rest Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Young was born in Washington, and had resided here for the last three months. He was the son of the late Charles C. Young and Lila Lunceford Young.He graduated from Washington-Wilkes High School, and had worked as a truckdriver in the dairy industry.He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by three daughters, Kristy Young White, of Rayle, Shelley Young Parker, of Rayle, and Sharon Young, of Madison, Ga.;one sister, Beverly Young Hopkins, of Washington; two brothers, Crayton Young (Charmin), of Washington, and Clary Young (Cheryl), of Crawfordville; six grandchildren, Andrew White, Lita White, Jonathan Tristan Hosting, Lila Hosting Dills (Aaron), Thomas Bradley Parker, and Benjamin Douglas Young; and four great grandchildren, Issac Stockwell, Ivy Stockwell, Eli White, and Tony Aaron “Tad” Dills. Memorial Military Honors will be accorded by a U. S. Navy Funeral Honors Team on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 2:00PM at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a time of visitation for the family to meet and greet attendees and exchange memories and stories about Doug. This will take place in the funeral home chapel immediately following the Flag Presentation. Hopkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Charles Douglas Young.
