Mr. Charles Russell Walling, 86, of Washington, died September 11, 2010 at his home.He was a native of Irvine, Kentucky, the son of the late George and Sis Rucker Walling. Mr. Walling was a WWII Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, he was retired from General Motors and the Corps of Engineers where he worked as a park attendant. He was also a Shriner and a Thirty-Second Degree Mason, and had been a Southgate Kentucky police officer, and a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Lee; brothers, Charles Walling, Burl Walling and Clayburn Walling; and a nephew, James Walling. Survivors include his wife of twenty eight years, Karen Walling; daughter, Brenda Jarrell, Richmond, KY;brother, Harry Walling, Franklin, Ohio; sisters, Marie Black, Ohio and Barbara Jean Henry, Irvine, KY; eight step children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dog, Scooter. No services are planned at this time.
