Mr. Charles (Charlie) Hoyt Griffin, 91, of Lexington Ave. in Washington, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Wills Memorial Hospital. Mr. Griffin was born in Hart County and had lived in Wilkes County for about 65 years.He was the son of the late Hoyt Griffin and Virginia Chester Griffin Bruce, and was the husband of Patricia Anthony Griffin.He was a bricklayer for most of his life, and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia (Pat) A. Griffin, of the home;one daughter, Ann Haughey, of Washington; two sons, David Griffin, and wife Jeanette, of Savannah, and Tony Griffin, and wife Becky, of Rayle; six grandchildren, Courtney Brown (Thorne), Katie Carden (Nick), Michael Griffin (Whitney), Ashley Teasley (Drew), Logan Griffin, and Faith Griffin; and four great grandchildren. No plans for a memorial service have been made at this time.
