Charles D. Drinkard Mr. Charles Davis Drinkard, 78, of Elijah Clark Dr., died Friday morning, October 25, 2013in Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington. Mr. Drinkard was born in Wilkes County and was the son of Walter David Drinkard and Mildred Virginia Pate Drinkard.He was a retired accountant, having worked at Pet Milk for about 30 years.He also was a bookkeeper for Gunter Well Drilling and for Concord Fabrics, Inc.He was the husband of Joan Norris Drinkard, and was a member of the Washington First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at 3:00 pm at the Washington First United Methodist Church with Revs. T. G. Hall, Gale Seibert, and Rich Seibert officiating.Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Charles Michael Rogers, Dale Drinkard, Arthur Dingler, Craig Drinkard, Brent Erwin, and Mitchell Erwin.Honorary pallbearers will be Hartrell Pate, Charles Rhodes, Terry Bradford, John Overstreet, and Pierce Barden. He is survived by his wife, Joan Norris Drinkard, of the home; two daughters, Cindy D. Erwin (Phillip), of Winterville, and Charlene D. McAvoy (Bobby), of Washington; three sisters, Helen Dingler, of Warner Robins, Nita Yearwood, of Union Point, and Sara Lord, of Madison; three brothers, Howard Drinkard, of Byron, Martin Drinkard, of Eatonton, and Warren “Doc” Drinkard, of Macon;6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 till 2:30 in the church Fellowship Hall.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 518, Washington, GA30673.
