Charles H. Broome Charles Hodgson Broome, 56, of Evans and formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, April 19, 2017, in Augusta. Mr. Broome was born in Lake Charles, LA.He was the son of Mr. Paul Broome and Ms. Hiltrud Landau Whitener, and was the husband of Marie McBride Broome. He was a Master Electrician in the lumber industry, and was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church. Charlie is survived by his wife, Marie M. Broome, of Evans; one son, Joshua Broome, of Woodstock; one daughter, Britteny M. Brickman, Evans; father, Paul Broome (Lisa), of Washington;mother, Hiltrud L. Whitener, of Easley, SC;two sisters, Jennie B. Buttgereit (David), of Easley, SC, and Courtney Broome, of Washington; one brother, Lyndon Broome (Heewan), of Grovetown; and three grandchildren, Konner Broome, Chase Brickman, and Hudson Broome. Graveside services will be 4:00pm Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Clifford Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roy Cates officiating.Pallbearers will be Lyndon Broome, John Braxton, Mike Fortson, JoshuaBroome, Crayton Young, B.B. McCarty, Justin Cosby, and Lorne Frenette. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Presbyterian Church.
