Mr. Charles Adams Blakey, 89, of Tignall, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation Facility.A native of Danburg, Georgia, he was the son of the late Roy L. and Ida Adams Blakey.Mr. Blakey retired from Royal Manufacturing as a Shipping Supervisor and served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater, Okinawa.He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ellen Berry Blakey, two brothers, Roy Blakey, Jr. and Robert L. Blakey and one sister, Edna Blakey Norman. Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Amelia and Herman Wheatley, of Washington; one granddaughter, Amy Wheatley Burch and her husband, Joe, of Tignall; one great granddaughter, Savannah Rose Burch, of Washington; one brother, Bobby Blakey, of Tignall and one sister, Lois Blakey Flynt, of Washington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 5th at 11:00am in Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Berry and Rev. Roy Cates officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Leonard Perry officiating the committal.Larry Young, Jeremy Wallen, Robert Rhodes, Terry Blakey, Wade Johnson and Marcy Remson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the church on Thursday from 10:00am until service time.
