Catherine Callaway

Mrs. Catherine Geneva Pitts Callaway, 89, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Wills Memorial Hospital.A native of Point Peter in Oglethorpe County Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Cary and Lillian Chastain Pitts. She was a homemaker and dairy farmer.She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.Mrs. Callaway was the wife of the late Herbert Harrison Callaway.She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Pitts. Graveside services will be Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 11:00 at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Albert Hyuck officiating. Ben Mc Commons, Rick Callaway, Jason Callaway, Cary Callaway, Will Callaway and Josh Callaway will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include one daughter Patsy Jean Mc Commons and her husband, Bill, of Raleigh, NC; two sons and their wives, Ricky and Penny Callaway, of Washington and David and Cindy Callaway, of Washington; two sisters, Doris Callaway, Crawford and Jeannie Fincher, Crawford; two brothers, Bobby Pitts, Elberton and Mevin Pitts, Athens; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
