Caroline Christine Wheatley

Mrs. Caroline Christine Sherrer Wheatley, 81, ofMetasville Rd., passed away Wednesday evening, September 11, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Wheatley was born in Washington and had lived there all of her life.She was the daughter of James Glover Sherrer and Annie Sue Bridges Sherrer, and was the wife of the late Thomas Wheatley.She was an assistant manager at Sherrer’s Grocery Store in Rayle for 30 years, and was a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church in the Metasville Community. Mrs. Wheatley is survived by two sons, Tommy Wheatley, and wife Gloria, of Rayle, and Mike Wheatley, of Washington; one brother, Marshall Sherrer, of Rayle; one grandson, Richard McAvoy, and wife Lisa, and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Amy Nicole McAvoy.She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wheatley, and by her grandson, Chris McAvoy. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Rayner and Rev. Larry Martin officiating.Visitation will be at the church (10:00) for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Wayne Poss, Randy Ogletree, Jake Buff, David Gay, Randy Palmer, and David Reville.
