Carol Turpin Thomasson

Carol Turpin Thomasson, age 75, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 following a brief illness. Carol was raised in Washington the daughter of the late Robert A. Turpin and Nellie Chafin Turpin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Terry Thomasson; and brother, Bobby Turpin. She loved to cut a rug at the VFW dances and her friendly spirit never let her meet a stranger. Carol was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed spending quality time as “Grandma,” and she was often found on her porch feeding her pet squirrel. Carol is survived by her two children, Ronnie Thomasson and Crystal Gayle Thomasson; three grandchildren, Darien Pender, Camden Shank, and M.J. Heath; three great grandchildren, Auden Miller, Khali Surraton, and Nellie Dawson; and niece, Tonya Turpin. Funeral services will take place at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2024 in the Chapel of Hopkins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Washington Wilkes Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hopkins.
