THE SERVICE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO BE IN HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME BEGINNING AT 3:30PM BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER. Mr. Billy Ray Dunnaway, 89, of Washington, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in Wills Memorial Hospital.A native of Washington, Georgia, he was the son of the late Raymond Alexander and Martha Turpin Dunnaway.He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Williams Dunnaway, a daughter, Connie D. Gresham and a granddaughter, Kimberly L. Gresham.Mr. Dunnaway worked for Pet Milk and Burt Lumber Company before becoming the proprietor of Billy D’s.He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and served his country in the U. S. Army. Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 23rd at 3:30pm in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Richard Broom officiating.Peyton McGill, Michael E. Gresham, Wade Dunaway, Sam C. McGill, Dan Durham and Tim Brown will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Edithe D. “Lou” and William G. Gresham, of Washington; three sisters, Louise D. Burt, Bonnie D. Brown (Troy), and Flora Ann D. McGill (Sam), all of Washington; two brothers, Tommy Dunaway (Regina) and Alex Dunaway; two grandchildren, Janna Gresham and Michael E. Gresham, Jr.; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00pm at the funeral home.
