Bettye Eubanks Armour, age 86, of Washington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Bettye was born in Washington, GA to the late Francis Marion Eubanks and Belle Glaze Eubanks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Eubanks Jr., nephew, John Eubanks, and step-grandson, Trevor Hudson.
She is survived by her husband, Travis Armour; three children, Lisa Stroika of Washington, Robert Griner (Ansley) of Lake Park, and Richard Griner (Lennette) of Savannah; one step-daughter, Angie Hudson (Joel) of Cary, NC; nine grandchildren, Steven Stroika of Atlanta, Alexis VanHouse (Dustin) of Appling, Amanda Palmer of Grovetown, Jennifer Rogers of Washington, Cortney McCall (Darren) of Ray City, Steven Griner (Belen) of Valdosta, Austin Griner of Miami, FL., Corey Corcho (Angie) of Savannah, and Alana Tinker (Justin) of Jacksonville, FL.; step-granddaughter, Hannah Petrea (Graham) of Charlotte, NC.; fourteen great-grandchildren and expecting her first step-great-grandchild. She is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces and nephew, a host of long-time friends, and her beloved dog, Marley.
Bettye was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and devoted member of Tignall Baptist Church. She retired from University Hospital in Augusta in 2007. She was excited to become a great-grandmother and looked forward to spending her retirement with her children and grandchildren. After retirement, Bettye met her soulmate in Travis Armour, they married in 2008, the day she became a Great-Grandmother for the 4th time. She was overjoyed to celebrate her marriage with the birth of another grandchild. Bettye remained active in the church with her husband and encouraged her family to always have faith in God for when you have faith you don't have to worry about the future because it's all in His hands.
A celebration of Bettye’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2024, at Tignall Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Wynne and Reverend Jim Newsome officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
