Mrs. Barbara M. Lunceford Griffith, 87, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, at the Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation Center in Union Point. Mrs. Griffith was born in Crawfordville on December 11, 1932 to Owens and Myra Griffeth Lunceford.She received her education from the Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville.She married Clarence Griffith, who preceded her in death in 1983.Her working history included working in her Dad’s store before she and her husband owned and ran Griff’s Launderette and Griff’s TV & Appliance.Later she worked at Rutherford’s Flower Shop in Union Point.After that she started a bake route which she enjoyed, and made many friends who bought her goodies until she retired.She was a member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking and doing for others.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Griffith. She is survived by her son, David Griffith and his wife Chris, of Sandersville; her daughter, Debra Brown, and her husband Doug, of Watkinsville; four grandchildren, Chad Brown and wife Cheryl, Keith Brown and wife Marie, Benji Amerson, and Kristin Hooks; and nine great grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be 2:30pm Sunday, May 31, 2020, at the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Nelson Goddard and Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crawfordville Baptist Church or to the Crawfordville Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Donna Taylor, P. O. Box 238, Crawfordville, GA30631. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
