Aurelius P. Barnett

Mr. Aurelius Pharr “Barney” Barnett, 93, of Martinez, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born in Ortega, FL, and was a retired agricultural engineer.He was the son of the late Graham D. and Camilla Pharr Barnett.Barney was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, serving during WW II as a B-24 pilot.He was a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, the Soil Conservation Society, the Kiwanis Club, and was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church of Augusta.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Barnett Carithers. Barney is survived by his wife, Janet R. Barnett, of Martinez, one daughter, three grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great grandson. Graveside services will be TODAY, March 2, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Cemetery, Gordon Street, Washington, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
