Anthony Wayne (Tony) Burton

Anthony Wayne (Tony) Burton, 69, of Tignall, son of Harriett Strother Burton and Raymond Burton, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Pruitt Health of Washington. Tony was born in Augusta on February 4, 1952.He was a graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School, and attended North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville, Ga.He was a member of the Mallorysville Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Burton and Billy Burton, of Tignall. He is survived by his uncle, Gene Burton, and wife Phyllis, of Elberton; by his cousins, Lawrence and Sandy Burton and Allen and Patricia Burton, of Washington, Mary Will and Ralph Denard, of Tignall, Bobby and Karen Burton and Dianne and Jerry Self, of Elberton, Joe and Debbie Burton, of Tignall, and Luanne Burton Morris, of Tignall; and by his step granddaughter, Alicia Quigley, of Tignall.
