Annie Bridges Hughes

Mrs. Annie Bridges Hughes, 73, of Washington, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, January 16, 2015.A native of Union Point, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Mary Hancock Bridges.She married Donald Richard Hughes in April of 1965. Annie taught school in a Christian school for over 20 years, and was a communications tech with AT&T.She was a published author and won multiple contests for her poems and essays.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington. Survivors include her loving husband for fifty years, Don Hughes; two daughters, Leah H. Barber, of Lexington, S.C. and Michelle Crabtree; one son Dean Hughes, Jacksonville, FL; three brothers, Phillip Bridges, Athens, Gene Bridges, Washington and Paul Bridges, Monticello and six grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday with family and close friends in attendance.
