Mrs. Amanda Woods Hogan, 39, of Washington, entered into rest Sunday evening at the Augusta University Medical Center. Amanda was born in Athens, but had lived most of her life in Wilkes County.She was the daughter of Debra Hopkins Woods and of the late Steve Edward Woods, and was the wife of Curry Hogan.She was a First Grade Special Education teacher at the Washington-Wilkes Primary School, and had earned her Masters Degree in Education from Augusta State University. She was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. Amanda is survived by her husband, Curry Hogan, of Washington; one son, Nicholas Curry Hogan, of Washington; her mother, Debra H. Woods, of Washington; her paternal grandmother, Eddie Mae Woods, of Lexington; and by several aunts and uncles and by a number of cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, May 22, 2021,at the Washington First Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Pilgrim, Rev. Tom Kalliokowski, and Manuel Bailey officiating.Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 21, 2021, from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home.
