Mrs. Adelle G. Dehil, 79, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in MCG.A native of Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Roberta Newsome Garrett.Before retiring, Mrs. Dehil worked as a legal secretary, tax preparer and a bookkeeper. She was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church, where she held many offices, including church treasurer for 25 years.She was active in UMW, many choirs and Augusta District functions.She loved music, singing alto/ harmonizing with many groups and loved working with her cows.Mrs. Dehil held offices in Wilkes Cattleman’s Association, Washington-Wilkes Band Boosters, and Washington-Wilkes Little League and was Tiger Club Member and supporter for many years.She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margaret G. Welborn and brother, James C. Garrett. Funeral services for Mrs. Dehil will be Friday, December 28th at 2:00pm in Smyrna United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Broom and Rev. Calvin Ward officiating. Tim Ray, Zach Dehil, Rick Price, Jim Price, Mack Price and Herman Wheatley will serve as pallbearers.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Peggy Brown, of Washington; son and daughter in law, Dennis and Laurie Dehil, of Washington; sister and brother in law, Jackie and Paschall Price of Harlem; six grandchildren, Tim Ray of Washington, Margaret Anne (Joey) Locklair of Thomson, Zach (Amanda) Dehil of Jacksonville, N.C. Missy Shelton and Shannon (Tina) Brown of Jefferson and Andy (Momoe) Brown of Japan; eight great grandchildren, Hunter and Madison Locklair, Dominic Ray, Kevin and Mia Brown, Faith, Hope and Charity Shelton. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
