Ace David Burke

Mr. Ace David Burke III, 70, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at the Pruitt Health Care Nursing Home of Washington. Mr. Burke was born in Augusta, GA on March 3, 1950 to the late Ace David Burke, Jr. and Leona Elliott Burke.His family moved to Wilkes County in 1958 where he lived the rest of his life. David worked in the family awning business for a number of years.He was a member of the Washington Fire Department for ten years, after which he worked at the Paper Pac Company where he was a maintenance technician.He was also an Honorary Deputy of the Wilkes County Sheriff Department.He married Judy Willis in 1980.Everyone that knew him knew that he loved hunting, fishing, fast cars, and his two dogs, Mikey and Sweetpea. David is survived by his wife, Judy W. Burke, of Washington; one sister, FiFi Burke Harris and husband David, of Washington; one brother, Kenneth L. Burke, and nephew Craig Mauldin, both of Washington. There are no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Fire Department, or to the charity of your choice. Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge.
